Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth
Looking for a good movie to watch over the summer? Take a dive into Journey to the Center of the Earth, a movie filled with action and adventure.
Trevor, a science professor whose radical theories have completely tarnished his reputation, is dedicated to the memory of his brother who went missing while exploring theories he read about in the book Journey to the Center of the Earth. He has even started a lab at the college to study his brother's theaories. When the movie begins he is about to lose his brother's lab. He decides to set off to prove his brother's theories are correct. While backpacking across Iceland with his nephew Sean, and a scientist's daughter, the explorers find themselves trapped in the Center of the Earth. How will they make it out?
The overall movie was very enjoyable. We watched the non-3D version which was great; we could tell where the 3D parts would have been fun to see. There are some scary parts that would not be suggested for children, especially under the age of five or six. Otherwise, it is a good movie for the whole family (including mom and dad!). We all had different favorite parts of the movie, because it was laced with humor and full of action. The actors they chose to play in it were great!
We give the movie five stars out of five and definitely recommend this movie!
